TOBACCO FREE INITIATIVE

The National Tobacco Information Online System (NATIONS) is an electronically integrated information system containing country-specific information on a wide variety of tobacco control issues for all the countries in the Western Pacific Region. It provides a standardized structure to monitor and assess the impact of tobacco, assist in the design of tobacco prevention and control programs and policies, and enhance future tobacco surveillance and evaluation research. NATIONS is a collaborative effort of World Health Organization Tobacco-Free Initiative (WHO-TFI), American Cancer Society (ACS), World Bank (WB) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).


PACIFIC FOOD SAFETY INITIATIVE

The Pacific Food Safety Initiative is an online database with country specific information about food importation in the Pacific region. It is a collaborative effort between the WHO and the governments of Fiji, Palau, and Samoa. The main objectives of the Initiative are to document food importation data and allow sharing of this data to countries in the Pacific region. It provides a standard format for data interchange and conforms to the guidelines for the exchange of information between countries on rejections of imported food of the Codex Alimentarius Commission of the FAO and WHO.

MANILA DOCTOR'S DEPARTMENT OF INTERNAL MEDICINE EPR
The Electronic Patient Record of the Department of Internal Medicine of Manila Doctors Hospital is a stable, cost-efficient, user-friendly system for tracking and monitoring patient data. It has all standard EPR features, such as Master Patient Index and RADT (Registration Admission Discharge Transfer) functionalities. It is also capable of generating census reports compliant with the format of the Philippine College of Physicians necessary for hospital accreditation. It also has a built-in drug interaction checker and ICD-10 search engine.

TELEHEALTH PROJECT FOR MULTIPURPOSE COMMUNITY TELECENTERS
The Multipurpose Community Telecenters (MCTs) are a response to the challange of capitalizing technology to give Filipinos equitable access to knowledge and resources. It aims to bring rural villages out of isolation through the use of Internet technology. Four pilot sites are situated in Barangay Maguinda, Butuan City, and Barangay Jaliobong, Kitcharao in Agusan del Norte and Barangay Malingao, Tubod and Barangay Taguitic, Kapatagan in Lanao del Norte. SynapseHealth is working to develop a suite of applications for healthcare delivery through Internet and mobile such as videoconferencing, distance learning, disease prevention, and mobile referral.
